ABOUT US

History

The Whatcom County Historical Society was incorporated July 29, 1964.

The mission and purpose of this (WCHS) Society is to bring together people interested in history, especially in the history of Whatcom County, Washington. This purpose is carried out by various means, which include: disseminating historical information and arousing interest in the past by holding meetings with addresses, lectures, papers, and discussion; marking historic buildings, sites, and trails; publishing historical material; establishing temporary and permanent displays which help to illustrate and interpret the exploration, settlement, and development of the region; and using all available forms of media to increase public awareness.
